TRIP REPORT: Croatia Airlines, Milan

Great report, thank you.

Thank you for this wonderful report. You write so well! I love the level of detail on all the positive and negative issues you encountered. I felt like I was flying on this route myself.

Thank you for the kind comments 😊

Amazing report. However the ground experience is quite embarrassing especially for the high premium they are charging passengers . I don't suppose the CEO is very liked by his business partners and photographers I guess, that is one funny picture he has in the magazine. Looks like a toddler before a rant.

That pic of the CEO is positively ghastly. That smug expression on his face really shows that he is as detached from reality as one can possibly be.

Bravo Hrvatska!

For heaven 's sake, did you mind reading the text? Or at least looking the photos? Only Star alliance feeder/member with no priority security for premium? No priority boarding? Passengers repacking bags on the apron in front of the aircraft? Flying turboprops on one of the biggest european markets in peak season? Cup of water and crackers? For 250 euro ow? Bravo Hrvatska? What are you taking, I want some..

Pozdrav, flight was full so 250 euros is normal price for last seats. I agree with you about other things, but price is fair if plane was full.

"For 250 euro ow?" That's why the strategy is correct, more flights from Split in summer than from Zagreb.

Eto vidiš pozdrave kako je tvoj dragi Jasmin odlučio uslišiti tvoje želje pa ubrzo neće biti turboelisnih zrakoplova na OU linijama 🤣🤣

@An.10.58If you read the text you could have seen 40 % of passengers were Americans. Same like in MUC, FRA, ZRH,VIE,BRU,AMS,CDG....That's why the strategy to fly four months doing direct feed from the coast and year round feed from ZAG is not correct. But, hey, who am I to talk about it? Just a hater. Jasmin knows better how to serve and please patrons...

@Anon 10:47„I had bought my ticket in early April (so a bit less than two months in advance) and paid a hefty €252 for a one-way flight without luggage"

Now that Croatia no longer has borders as of this year, a lot of people will opt to drive tgis route.

OU doesn't seem to do seat blocking for status passengers in Economy (unlike Lufthansa Group airlines). Seat blocking in economy, really?

If availability allows, yes it is a perk for Senators. Doesn't cost the operators nothing.

@ anonymous 10.47 If you paid attention, the ticket was bought two months before the flight. If the ticket was bought then, then I can imagine how much the ticket cost on the day of the flight? And that OW.

Croatia Airlines does not follow that pricing strategy. Their ticket prices don't fluctuate much.

@VladThanks mate! And just for you : Jasmineeee!! Dje si? Je l'se ispila kahva? 😃

Really nice trip report. I fly frequently with OU and what I like the most is consisent level of service over the years. 1. You are always served with free snacks (local flavours) and water. 2. Crew always provides excellent service with smile. 3. Call center in Zagreb answers on your call within minutes and if your flight is late they pay you minimum 250 euros without any delay (inlike other companies).

You think 250 euros for crackers and water is good service?

As it was written in the report flight was full and lasts seats are sold at higher price as everywhere in the World. Not all seats are sold at this price. We call it revenue management.

Unfortunately the armchair CEOs on here expect all tickets to be under €50 and even then not many locals fly. These SPU routes will do well for OU, shame about the rest of the network.

I despise the term "armchair CEOs" because it implies that people on this site are stupid and all the CEOs and experts are super smart, when I don't think that's the case. Many people here have valid points and intelligent remarks but probably never got a chance to realise them. The CEOs however, as we should all have learned by now, are oftentimes merely party apparatchiks and lack even the basic knowledge that people on this site often possess!

Jasmin certainly doesn't know how to run an airline better than the average Ex-Yu comment poster.

I was surprised to read the flight was full. It seems niche regional connections could be a hit. Do you know how many passangers were tourists?Btw. For 250 EUR I woukdcexpect better service then a pack of snack.

would expect

British Airways charges 600 euros for Milan-London flights and you get the same.

I would say the vast majority of passengers were tourists, 90% if I had to guess.

Last year I bought a return ticket from Frankfurt to Split for 700€ with Lufthansa. It was because the flights were full. That's how it is sometimes...and of course you don't get anything extra. Come on, I don't like the leaders of OU neither, but let's try to be realistic sometimes.

OU seems not to have informed the handling agent how to deal with luggage for a turboprop! Avanti diletanti!

How many passengers were on flight?

I wouldn't swear on it, but the load factor seemed to be at least 85%.

Excellent report, one of the best so far… thanks mate! I would also smile if I saw Jasmin, even on the photo :)All in all, OU's strategy is not far from the overall CRO strategy - let's "work" for 4 months and live for 12 based on the same effort. I’m just not sure that can be sustainable with a national carrier.

Thank you 😊

Again that picture of Jasmin CANNOT be real 😂 He is posing in front of a PROPELLER plane and also with cloudy sky.. They just wanted to get that thing over with.

Bel scritto.

Grazie paesano 😁

Does take too much by D8
